Double Occupancy: Baby A and Baby B

I am currently 6-1/2 months pregnant with identical twin girls! Honestly it has taken me just as long to mentally get from shock, being overwhelmed and total fear to a place of joy and excitement. Here is a brief summary of how we found out: It was my first trimester screening (I was 13 weeks to be exact) and just minutes after the tech started my ultrasound, she said "do you have multiples in your family?" at the same time I was looking at the screen seeing doubles, however I just thought it was some weird camera trick. I said no to her question which then prompted her to joyfully say "well there is now!" At that very moment it was like someone had sucker punched me in the stomach and I was left gasping for air, especially since I had an ultrasound 6 weeks earlier and never received any indication of twins. This was supposed to be a routine visit, I didn't even take my husband with me (which I regret because seeing the look on his face at that very moment would have been priceless). So...twin pregnancy...not the most pleasant experience. aside from the fact that all of the symptoms you can experience with one baby on board is now doubled, there are the weekly, yes weekly, doctor visits, constant talk of potential risks and complications, which all leads to constant anxiety...just loads and loads of fun.

But things are looking up, I've made it to the third trimester so I know longer feel so doomed which is exactly how I felt every time I left the doctor's office early on. I'm now ready to start planning, prepping and organizing for my two new bundles of joy that are coming my way! My wish list for twin essentials to follow.
